Dental Implant Options

Implant dentistry has the power to improve the health, function, and appearance of your smile. Implants are the best option for replacement teeth. They can prevent the jawbone from deteriorating, stop surrounding teeth from shifting, hold restorations securely, and look completely natural. The best part is that dental implants can replace a single tooth, several missing teeth, or all of your teeth.

At Boston Post Dental & Implants, Dr. Stanley Ye, your implant dentist, can attach a dental crown, bridge, or dentures to implant posts. Keep reading to learn more about the dental implant options available.

Replace a Single Tooth

Are you missing a single tooth due to an accident, an oral health problem, or even because of genetics? If yes, we can pair an implant with a dental crown to maintain oral health and rejuvenate your smile. We place the artificial tooth root through the gum tissue and jawbone of the empty socket.

After the implant placement procedure, you will enter into a period of osseointegration. At this time, the titanium post fuses to the jaw bone. The surrounding bone slowly forms around the implant, essentially making it a part of your body and solid support for the implant. A temporary restoration can be placed during this time of healing.

Once osseointegration is complete, a custom-made crown perfectly matched to your natural teeth fills in the gap and looks entirely natural.

Replace Several Teeth

Are you missing two or more teeth in a row? If so, a dental bridge is the best option for restoration. A bridge has two or more prosthetic teeth fused to replace missing teeth in a row.

Unlike one missing tooth, implant-supported bridges do not require an implant post for each lost tooth. We get to use fewer implants spaced out to hold your bridge in place.

A custom-made partial denture also replaces several missing teeth in your upper or lower arch. Strategically placed dental implants can securely hold the partial denture in place.

Replace All of the Teeth in the Upper or Lower Arch

A full denture is the best solution if you are missing all of your teeth in the upper or lower arch. In this case, we use the All-on-X technique to replace all of your teeth. This approach places four to eight dental implants.

A complete denture is attached to the implants and restores your smile 100%. You will finally be able to talk and eat confidently, knowing your teeth are securely fixed. There is no more embarrassing slippage with removable dentures.

Dental Implants at Boston Post Dental & Implants

Regardless of the type of dental implant you choose, Dr. Stanley Ye will design a natural-looking tooth replacement that complements your surrounding features and improves your overall appearance.

There are a few requirements for getting dental implants. Your oral surgeon must verify the health of your teeth and gums and ensure no periodontal disease is present. He must also check the health of your jaw and ensure it is strong enough to hold the implant. If not, he will talk with you about bone grafting procedures.
